🎶 What’s So Funny About Peace, Love & Understanding?

This verse has been rolling around in my head lately:

“As I walk through this wicked world… searching for light in the darkness of insanity, I ask myself, ‘Is all hope lost? Is there only pain and hatred and misery?’”

I wish that felt like hyperbole. But let’s be real—there’s a lot of chaos right now. The television and media industries are hurting. We're being told economic, social, and systemic pain is part of some path to making things “right.” And with the internet constantly flooding us with information—both truth and nonsense—it can feel like you’re treading water in the “darkness of insanity.”

Let’s keep the song going:

“And as I walk on through troubled times, my spirit gets so downhearted sometimes. So where are the strong and who are the trusted? And where is the harmony, sweet harmony?”

Where are the strong? The trusted? The sweet harmony?

I think the answer to Nick Lowe & Declan MacManus’s question is right there in the title. It’s in peace, love, and understanding.

✌️ Peace: It’s Not Passive. It’s Power in Calm Form.

When everything feels like a five-alarm fire, your nervous system goes into “Code Red.” But not everything is urgent.

📱 Can’t afford the new iPhone? Not urgent. 🙅

🏚️ Facing eviction or burnout? Urgent. 💥

Knowing the difference = reclaiming your peace.

❤️ Love

I saw a post that said: “True love is when you meet someone who appreciates your weirdness as much as you appreciate theirs.”

For me? I can name every breed on the AKC registry. Out loud. To every dog I meet. (Yes, I ignore the humans. Yes, my friends live for it.)

Love builds strength. It builds trust. It lays the foundation for peace—with others and with yourself.

🤝 Understanding: The Foundation of Real Leadership

At Fully Unapologetic, one of our core missions is to remind you:

You are enough. As is. Period.

Some people can eat 3,000 calories and stay lean. Some gain weight sniffing a croissant. One person thrives in chaos. Another needs structure.

We're not broken—we’re just different.

Understanding = empathy

Empathy = leadership superpower

Especially in high-stakes, high-emotion environments.

💪 Let’s Be Clear

Peace, love, and understanding don’t mean:

🚫 Letting people walk all over you

🚫 Shrinking to make others comfortable

🚫 Smiling through BS

They do mean:

✅ Knowing what’s worth fighting for

✅ Protecting your energy like it’s your full-time job

✅ Leading with self-worth so big it makes people uncomfortable

Because sometimes the most unapologetic thing you can say is:

“I am not to be f**ked with.”

So, what is so funny about peace, love, and understanding?

Absolutely nothing.

Not to the strong.

Not to the burned-out-but-still-standing.

And definitely not to you.

✨ Remember this when the world feels sideways.

🔥 When you feel ragey.

🌪️ When the chaos creeps in.
